Hawaiian steel performances will be interspersed throughout the weekend schedule.
Thursday Oct. 1
Hawaiian Steel Guitar Instructional Seminar with Alan Akaka
5-10 pm Welcome Party (free) – 3 steel combos including Austin’s own Combo Mahalo
Friday Oct. 2
All-day Steel performances 10am-Midnight (see schedules for Hawaiian performers)
8-10 pm – Hawaiian musicians Alan Akaka & friends host a Kanikapila – Traditional Hawaiian music jam for everyone with steel guitar, ukuleles & more
Saturday Oct. 3
All-day Steel performances 10am-Midnight (see schedules for Hawaiian performers)
5-6 pm – Induction of the late Hawaiian steel guitarist David “Feet” Rogers into the Steel Guitar Hall of Fame. Musical tribute by Bobby Ingano using Feet’s original Bakelite Rickenbacher lap steel.
